BBQ

Robyn, Susan, Carolyn and I went to Mr. Higashimori`s (on the right in the pink shirt)house for a BBQ. Mr. Higashimori has a son that goes to OCSI. It was a lot of fun getting to meet his family. Mr. Higashimori even made us hotdogs, I guess to make us feel like we were home. We had fun talking about how people in the US use 500 gallon drums to make BBQ grills and how cowboys determine their status by the size of their belt buckle.

We are at the last day of learning Japanese and then were on our own. It is a very difficult language because you not only have to learn new words but also a new alphabet. It`s fun but hard at the same time.

One of the cultural things to do down here is to attach charms to your cell phone. Some people have 10-20 hanging from their phone.

Robyn is having fun at the vending machine each day trying new drinks (theirs ton`s of them).

School start the 24th of August so prayer would be encouraged to give us strength and direction for the beginning of the school year. First impressions are important even when they should not be.

Thank you for everyone who posts messages for us. It`s fun to hear feedback.

Until next time
The Robison-san

One question, did Mr. Higashimori know you were coming that day? He looks like you surprised him then forced him to take a picture showing how happy he was that you were there! Is that the ocean behind you? Yowza! Looks like a great place and great people! Does anyone speak any English? And finally, tell Robyn she needs a hair cut. xoxoxo
    And Happy Birthday to Jamie

Wow! It sounds amazing - and like a bit of a culture shock too. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy. We miss you terribly and love the pictures so please keep them coming. We'll have some hot dogs and apple pie tonight in your honor!

    How's the Japanese coming??

    Love to you both.

  6. Nihon is going well, we are both struggling as you can imagine. That`s amazing that Dylan-san is walking. Did Todd get it on video?

And who ever is playing Marco Polo (clyda), I don`t think anyone is in the water.

Maybe I'm just out of the loop, but I am beginning to fel a little lost. What is Nihon? What's with the -san after your names and when did everyone get out of the pool?

Rick is in the pool and I think he still doesn't know where Nemo is.

Jamie-san, I think Nihon means something in Japanese. It would do you well to brush up a little.

Finally... EVERYONE BACK IN THE POOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Ra, a few questions...
1 Have you tried every drink in the vending machine yet?
2 How are you doing with the Japanese? Have you mastered the language yet?
3 Have you gotten over the lizzard jumping on you yet?
    4 Do you miss me
5 Do you miss me more than Jamie?
6 If you don't can you still say yes?
7 Are you ready for the first day of school?
8 Do you start at the same time as Paul?
9 Do they have sketchers in Japan?
10 And finally the question everyone wants the answer to... Do the toilets flush clockwise or counter clockwise?

Sorry Clydegsan, see what happens when you live in a small town, terlits become the main topic! Sorry no more sugar chips I'm back to the old thread and needle.

Funny you should mention thread and needle... I have a 6 year old whos legs haven't caught up with the rest of him. This means a little sewing lesson would be down right neighborly of you!? What do you say? Do I see a sewing class in my future?

Sure...just let me know when and where is good for you. do you think Robyn and Paul mind us conducting state side business on their blog??? Or maybe we have to watch out for the Blog Administrator!!!!

I KNOW Robyn and Paul want to be as in touch with what we are doing state side as possible. And frankly if not for the blog I wouldn't have the chance to speak to you so Ra and Paul have accomplished one of their "Missions" to keep us all together. As for the Blog Admin, He don't scare me! (much)
