Stream Bed

Not that I don't mind learning new things but it has been almost incredible on how much I have tackled since arriving to Okinawa (list to long to write). I'm to the point now where if something new comes up I don't hesitate to try it because I know that God's got my back. As with anything new I made mistakes but that's when you learn the most and understand the beauty of what your learning. I feel like a stone in a stream bed, constantly being smoothed out little by little. With each new obstacle I feel God smoothing off a few rough edges. Sometimes it's painless as water rushing over the stone and sometimes it hurts a little like being banged into other stones. Whatever it may be it's a humbling feeling. My latest smoothing out has been in coaching. I have never coached volleyball but an opportunity arose and of course I said "why not". I learned a lot, made a lot of mistakes, studied the game and had a blast of a season coaching 10 awesome girls. I also had the privilege of having a great cast of assistant coaches, my wife and our neighbor Susan.

I never thought I'd do a lot of things I'm doing but that's the adventure of following God.
Do I look rounder?
